Awesome 14 day personalized trip of Nepal
I have nothing but the highest praise for this 14 day personalized tour of Nepal for my husband and me that far exceeded our expectations. We originally made plans with another touring company, but when that trip fell through we were left with plane tickets to Kathmandu and no tour. Fortunately we found Himalayas Discovery who saved our vacation from disaster. The team demonstrated their wonderful flexibility while on tour (once they discovered our adventurous spirit) and took us to locations and restaurants not normally shared with traditional travelers.

Outstanding way to see an incredible part of our world
We just returned from an amazing Nepal-Bhutan trip and can’t imagine a better experience than the one organized for us.
We did private tours everywhere. Our itinerary hit such highlights as Kathmandu’s beautiful temples, Tiger’s Nest monastery in Bhutan and many others. The sights were everything we hoped for and more – literally breathtaking beauty at the roof of the world, diving into ancient cultures, with mind-broadening experiences throughout.
The guides organized for us were all very good, flexible and extremely helpful. One of us got injured in a fall early in our trip and the guides were terrific in adapting our activities to accommodate the injury when it was needed. We’re in our early 50s, fit and healthy, and we felt the activity level was right for us.
We loved the hotels overall and they were exactly the type we would have chosen ourselves. Most were right in the heart of the best locations with local flavor and character. The travel arrangements and vehicles were comfortable and of good quality in all cases.
Our special thanks to Jack Li at Himalayas Discovery for building us a custom itinerary that really exceeded our expectations. Jack is tremendously responsive and helpful, worked with us on a lot of itinerary changes as we explored options, and gave great guidance throughout the planning and booking process. Thanks very much to Jack for all he did to make this such a special trip!

Nepal the hidden gem
My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous and exciting trip to Nepal. Although the country is very poor the people are very friendly, polite and willing to help. Our tour guide Nabaraj Mainali, who is an independent guide, was testament to this and went out of his way to make our tour all we had wished it to be.
we visited the Swayambhurat Temple also known as the Monkey Temple. Make sure that you go to the back of the temple so as to avoid the 365 steps up to the temple. From the top you get a wonderful view of the Kathmandu Valley. Nearby one can purchase authentic Tibetan carpets woven on sight by the women refugees from Tibet. We also visited other sights such as Durbar Square, Bouddhanath temple and Pashupatinath Temple where we were witness to a cremation at this sacred Hindu sight.
We then moved onto Nargakot to witness a beautiful sunset and sunrise over the very impressive Langtang Himalayan mountain range. The journey from Kathmandu was arduous as the roads in general are in poor condition and the traffic chaotic but the visit was a must. The next day it was onto Baktapur with its many temples and religi ous sites. Unfortunately a number of them and buildings still bear the scars of the earthquake of 2015 but work is evident to repair them.
All in all a very worthwhile and relatively inexpensive holiday with wonderful people and weather.
We were ably assisted with our tour by Wonder Wang of Himalayas Discovery who helped, with his contacts to make it all happen.
